Ecological Restoration

BlueFlax Design LLC specializes in restoration of coastal and wetland resource areas including coastal banks, coastal dunes, isolated wetlands, and salt marshes. A restoration project may be designed as mitigation for a larger project, or simply to regenerate ecological integrity of the resource area.

Mitigation Design

Mitigation projects are often completed as restoration of a coastal resource areas (as shown above), however, in some cases mitigation plantings may be designed to suit a particular property, project or client.

Scope: Working with APCC to design a "living laboratory" landscape to showcase native plants and the diverse possibilities for native, sustainable landscapes on Cape Cod.

Harwich Conservation Trust

WELLFLEET BAY WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Date: 2018 - ongoing

Scope: Redesign of the butterfly & pollinator garden for educational purposes using primarily species native to the eastern U.S.

Visual Renderings

Visual renderings illustrate what a project will conceptually look like either while it is in progress or at its completion/when it is fully established. These illustrations may be done digitally or by hand, and are useful for fundraising, generating community buy-in, or helping clients visualize intended aesthetics.
